Making plans...

One of the two adults in my home is a planner.
The other one is not.
One is detail oriented.
The other one is not.
One asks the question, "Is it on the calendar?"
The other one aimlessly asks, "Anything going on this weekend?"
One has the day mapped out.
The other one inquires of the planner, "Where am I supposed to be today?"
One loves the fact that A + B + C = D
The other one basks in the observation of, "Isn't it great that we have letters like A, B, C and D!"

So... yesterday when the other one proposed that we sit down and figure out some "calendar" items, the one was ecstatic beyond recognition.
So... there we sat...together... making plans...

My iWitness...

What did you have planned for yesterday?

How much of what you had planned on doing actually came to fruition?

What do you have planned for today?

What is your best guess on how much you will actually accomplish of that which you have planned?

Let's go up a little higher in elevation and get a "bird's eye" view of our life...

What do you have planned for this month? Between now and Christmas? This year?

Here's an age old question...

How much of that which you are planning on doing and being in the very near future actually align with the plans God has for you?

The age old question has an age old answer...

I love the Apostle Paul's opening lines in Chapter 12 of his letter to the Church in Rome...

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12.  1-2)

I have an idea that "the one" in my home will be thrilled when I put on the calendar the following items...

1. Living sacrifice
2. Do not be conformed by this world
3. Transform by renewal of my mind
4. Test, test, and test some more
5. Discern, discern, discern and discern some more what is the will of God
6. Practice what is good and acceptable and perfect

I'm making plans!
What is your plan?

And that's my iWitness...
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!
