Where the streets have no name...

Imagine living in a typical planned suburban community with postage stamp lots, square blocks and every fifth house looks exactly alike.
Imagine all of that sitting on about 1,000 acres of flat land.
Now, take it one step further.
Imagine an EF-4 tornado with winds in excess of 200 miles an hour wiping out every home in the whole 1,000 acre planned suburban community.
Your imagination became a reality this week in Moore, Oklahoma.

Here's the strangest story I have heard yet...
The city officials have come into these types of neighborhoods and are working furiously to do one thing and one thing alone.

Put up the street signs.

You heard that right. The city is trying to put up street signs so people can find their homes... or at least where their home used to be.

Would you be able to identify where you have called home for the last few years if everything around it was flattened rubble, strewn debris, decimated homes, trees broken off like toothpicks, and there was not one landmark left standing?

My iWitness...

Do you know where your home is?
Of course I am talking metaphorically and spiritually.

What pillars, what foundations, what fences, what boundaries and what landscapes do you surround yourself with so that you know you are "spiritually home and spiritually secure" from the storms that life will throw your way.

Do the streets where you frequent have names?
Or do you wander in a world where the streets have no name?

And that's my iWitness...
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths (streets) straight." (Proverbs 3. 5-6)
