Bridges of Madsion County

Yesterday the whole family, along with our good friends from Seattle, Kelly and Leisa went on a discovery tour of some of the Bridges of Madison County made famous by the book of the same name by Robert James Waller.

We discovered that once inside these covered bridges people have felt free to write their name or scribe some other such things on the inside of the bridge. We were no different with Faith and Joshua grabbing crayons and scribbling the names of everyone in our party.

On the Holliwell Bridge I discovered this message written by Warren Wayne Garrett...

In life we cross many bridges,
Some covered, some not.
As long as the bridges that we cross,
We cross together, We will be okay.
Nicole Faith Breeling, I love you and
I want to spend the rest of my life with
you
Will you please marry me.
                                  Forever Yours,
                                  Warren Wayne Garrett

My iWitness..

You never know where you will find "love."
Love confessed...
Love professed...
Love scribed for all to see who will visit the Bridges of Madison County.

I "love" how the Apostle Paul scribed the definition of love in a letter to a church...

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
(1 Corinthians 13. 4-7)
A great exercise to do with this passage is to substitute the word "love" with your own name.
Read it aloud with your name in there...
Does that describe you?

Another great exercise is to put the name of Jesus in for the word "love".
When we do, we have an amazing portrait of the Master.

In life we cross many bridges,
Some covered, some not.
As long as the bridges that we cross,
We cross together, We will be okay.
David Wilkes Dendy, I love you and
I want to spend the rest of my life with
you
                             Forever yours,
                             Jesus!

And that's my iWitness...
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!

ps - Do you think Nicole said, "Yes"?
